Johima Abstract Paintings are Finally For SALE!

I’ve been resting, taking a break, and now I’m back in full-swing! … ready to sell, and ready for you to buy art! How’s that for BOLD?

I have two pieces available for sale through a wonderful collaboration, via Cedar Corner Art Gallery in Tofino, who is now representing me and my work. Freshly delivered and hung on June 30th, there are two Brenda Johima pieces available for sale in this West Coast gallery right now!

Here is one of my favorite mixed media pieces, which was sold by a Gallery in Nanaimo, and went to a physicians office, and this painting happily lives in the waiting room for patients to enjoy. Smart Doctor! 🙂

It is loaded with paint, layers and layers of paint and acrylic inks, with objects added and embedded for a heavily textured, fascinating piece to look at. (Everyone wants to touch this one, the textures are so interesting)

And sorry, the bad news for you? YES, it is already SOLD. And, the Good News for you? If you love this one, I can create one very similar, (never exact), as everything I create is one of a kind, however, I can use similar techniques, and in the color palette of your choice.

**NEW! I am trying an experiment with new pricing called PWW or “Pay What It’s Worth” … So, you tell me what art is worth to you in your life, to your business. I don’t just mean the perceived value of the piece, but what is it worth in $$ to your home, or as a gift, as a memory, or as a feature piece in your place of business. Simple, email me (brenda [at] brendajohima.com]  your PWW price, and I will say Yes or No **

Today I went out looking for simplicity and beauty in the ordinary, and to take the opportunity to practice a few skills using Shutter Priority. And here we have it.

What could be more simple and beautiful in spring, than dandelions, and skunk cabbage?

These are two things that most of us do not usually use the word “beauty” on. However, once you zoom in with the camera, focus on green as the color field as the experience for the skunk cabbage, and on minimalism and simplicity for the fluffy dandelion midst a sea of yellow … you see, we do have beauty in the ordinary.

I am really really very good at SEO (search engine optimization) and Internet Marketing and Online Marketing. (Oh yes, this is me, solo entrepreneur, Brenda Johima, Vancouver Island (Comox Valley) based photographer, painter and mixed media artist.)

And, I just completely wiped out and deleted three of my own websites and blogs. Three years of writings and paintings and photography on one of the blogs, and the sites have been up for about 8 years.

So?

Most web designers and developers and SEO experts would advise against that. I would have advised my clients for JOHIMA Designs to never do that.

And you know what? So what. I want to start over to be happier and to simplify my life and business. I want more time off of the computer and outdoors and walking around, and spending time with people I love, and in meeting new people.

It’s about living the truth, and it’s about being honest with me, and it just feels great to wipe the slate clean, not care what others think, and let’s see what evolves on this blank canvas now.

Try it, you might like it.

* Don’t worry, if you are good at SEO, the search engines will find you again anyway! They are looking for you.
