In January of 2019 I began photographing “People as Shapes” as a personal project, in the streets of Vancouver, which then turned into working on publishing a small black and white photo book in 2019. Stay tuned for your opportunity to order.
In past I was not a people photographer (yet … never say never) however I do love the abstract.
In seeing people as shapes on the streets, it became such an exciting and fun way to work with my camera and to share my perspective of how I view the human world in black and white.
To view disappearing body parts and limbs melding and fading into concrete, fusing and melding soft human forms with industrial cold and hard as concrete, while combining that with black and white straight from camera imagery, it became the perfect contrast and is now a fascination (maybe an artistic obsession?) for me.
